Ra Bandìa (to be pronounced *bungdeeah) is the local name standing for Italian BANDITA, a small country village some 50 kilometres inland from Genoa (NW Italy). The dialect spoken here is to be classified as Piedmontese despite its resemblance to Genoese or Zeneise (Genoa administered our village until late 19th century). It also resembles, to a larger extent, Pope Bergoglio's family dialect.
